What is CHAS?

According to the CHAS website: “CHAS helps clients (buyers) and contractors (suppliers) ensure compliance across the different areas of risk management, and mitigate risks across the supply chain. We offer accreditation schemes that can help businesses achieve compliance, mitigate supply chain risks and support efficient supply chain management. ”

There are 3 levels of service with CHAS Health & Safety being the introductory level.

Who needs CHAS?

CHAS accreditation is available to a number of industries, including:

  • Construction
  • Education
  • Facilities Management
  • Housing & Development
  • Social Care

How to I become CHAS Accredited?

In order to qualify for CHAS Accreditation a company must first be compliant, this means producing and uploading the following to CHAS for their approval.

  • Company Safety Policy
  • Risk Assessments
  • Method Statements

CHAS will then assess and verify your documents and may undertake a site audit.
